Focus Month: February – eSafety

This years theme for European Safer Internet Day is ‘Connecting generations and educating each other’ and will take place on 7th February 2012. Knowsley CLCs have for some years promoted the safe use of the internet and several members of the team are qualified CEOP Ambassadors (Child Exploitation & Online Protection). To show our support for this day our February activities will be focussed around eSafety. We have developed a range of activities designed to inform children and young people about the potential risks they face when online.

January Focus Month: Creative writing and re-telling stories

Help learners get inspired by books, poems and plays and then encourage them to create and share their own creative stories.

In our latest series of activities learners can write their own short stories or retell a favourite story and then turn them into digital stories using a variety of multimedia tools including graphics, audio, animation and web publishing. These digital stories can then be shared with other schools and the world.

National Novel Writing Month: November

Knowsley CLCs are always keen to support national events and as such we have developed an activity to support teachers interested in taking part in National Novel Month.  The activity focuses on encouraging children to write a short story and produce illustrations in order to create a class novel.  This is a really great literacy and ICT activity that can be completed using iPads. The finished novel can then be entered into the National Novel competition.  To view further details, click on the link below to be directed to the National Novel Month website:
